Meet Martine Body, the newest Partner of Design Development at ASG / Chute Gerdeman.

An Ohio native, Martine’s journey began at Fort Hayes with commercial photography studies, leading her to a BFA in Interior Design from the Columbus College of Art and Design. Her love for travel fueled experiences throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and South Africa shaping her design perspective.

She started honing her skills at Limited Brands, GSW Worldwide, and a previous role at ASG before embarking on a successful 14-year career at Express, leading the Store Design and Construction team. There, she completed projects across the US, Middle East, and Latin America.

Martine’s role on the team alleviates pain points for any retailer looking to scale their business through design. We’re a more flexible extension of our client partner teams, and capable partners as capacity surges. In a world where brands may hire and layoff talent after short tenures for projects, Martine’s skillset paired with the team’s abilities give us an edge to be a safer, more efficient solution for various retailers.

Introducing Matt Reid, a Michigan native and Miami Redhawk via studies, Matt’s expertise in the Tenant Representation world stems from his beginnings in retail finance, and general retail strategy.

Following his undergraduate studies at Miami University (OH), Matt pursued graduate studies at Cornell University, and soon after made Ohio his permanent home. After a long tenure with EXPRESS and Limited Brands, Matt decided to depart the client side, and branch into the consultant space.

Matt’s addition to the tenant representation practice allows ASG to grow the discipline. His understanding of market trends and financial acumen allow ASG to provide better advice and solutions to clients. Additionally, Tenant Representation can further influence the market, while also committing to attracting top industry talent and delivering top tier solutions.

Matt will be a leader for ASG on the Tenant Representation team and help some of the biggest brands establish strong retail portfolios.

ASG Welcomes Paul Hiers as New CFO

Asset Strategies Group (ASG) is pleased to announce Paul Hiers has rejoined ASG as its Chief Financial Officer. Paul is no stranger to ASG, having co-founded the company more than 25 years ago with Steve Morris. He helped develop the financial and business processes for ASG’s services and was integral to the startup and growth of our industry-leading outsourced lease management service.

“I am delighted that Paul has returned to the ASG family as our CFO,” said Carrie Barclay, ASG’s President. “His desire to re-join us and develop the business is a huge compliment to what we are building.”

Prior to co-founding ASG, Paul was VP/Controller for Limited Inc.’s Real Estate and Store Planning divisions, where he oversaw $300 million in annual store capital expenditures and over $1 billion in occupancy expenses. He also worked for four years at KPMG’s Cleveland office providing independent insight and investigative research to a variety of clients. Paul has a BBA in Accounting from Kent State University.

Over the years, Paul has stayed actively involved with ASG as an advisory board member and contributed to various financial projects, including our conversion to an ESOP in 2019 and the acquisition of Chute Gerdeman in 2020.
